Annual Community Gathering Takes Place Saturday of Event Weekend

Downtown Carlisle Corvette Parade and Street Party

CARLISLE, PA – Live music and America’s Sports Car, the Corvette, invade downtown Carlisle for the ever-popular annual Downtown Carlisle Corvette Parade and Street Party.  Corvettes at Carlisle itself takes place August 23-25 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and the parade, presented by the Downtown Carlisle Association, is held on Saturday, August 24.

The parade starts at 7 p.m. and includes live music and over 400 Corvettes spanning the history of the brand.  In addition, special guests such as the Corvette engineers will be part of the free fun too.  Showcased this year will be the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray.  Not only will the Stingray be a spotlight car onsite during Corvettes at Carlisle weekend, it will also be one of the cars leading the way downtown.

Once parked in and around the square, drivers of the cars and fans of the brand will flood the streets, revel in the automotive excitement and enjoy live music from “That Band.”  The group returns to Carlisle for the second consecutive year and features a great array of cover music.  Last year, people were dancing in the streets along with the sounds of “That Band” and everyone who comes to the parade can expect the same type of fun.

Registration for the parade may be done online right now as part of an additional charge to the Fun Field registration or onsite Friday of event weekend.  A Saturday registration session is scheduled too; however, that is based solely on the availability of spaces within the parade field.

“Every town in America wishes for an event as popular and iconic as Corvettes at Carlisle," said Glenn White, Executive Director of the Downtown Carlisle Association.  "The DCA is proud to work with Carlisle Events and Corvette to showcase these American-made classics every year.  With over 400 vehicles downtown annually, our businesses benefit and the Corvette owners benefit by allowing us to show them great Carlisle hospitality."
